One Pot Sausage Pasta
Ingredients:
1 box of pasta (in this recipe I used farfalle, but you can use any noodle you want)
1 24 oz jar of pasta sauce
1 6oz can of tomato paste
1lb ground Italian Sausage
1 tbsp of basil
Salt
Pepper
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
Serving Size: 6 people
Directions:
1. Set large pot on burner and set to medium high heat. Wait until hot then put 1 tbsp of oil in the pan. Add ground Italian sausage and break up into pieces and cook until brown and cooked through, no red. Turn the boiler on the oven and let preheat.
2. Remove sausage from heat and put in a bowl and keep warm. Clean out pot if needed, then fill halfway with water. Put the pot back on burner and toss in a large pinch of salt into the water. Set burner to high and wait for it boil rapidly. Once boiling rapidly, throw in the pasta and cook until al dente. Drain noodles than return to pot.
3. Put pot back on burner on medium heat. Throw sausage back in with noodles and pour in pasta sauce, 1 tbsp of basil, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of water. Stir until combined. Add 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and stir until mixed.
4. Top with another 1/2 cup of cheese and put in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve with cheesy garlic bread, enjoy! (If you don't have an oven proof pot, that's fine! Just skip this last step and enjoy!)
